Macha was the ancient seat of the Kings of Ulster and as the main
centres of the
Red
Branch. This royal seat has ancient links with the Goddess Macha,

read a little more of Macha. The site is also referred to as "Ard
Macha" which is where Armagh gets its name. The remaining Bank
and Ditch holds an area of about 18 Acres but like many of the royal
sites would have spread for another mile all round. |
