welcome to my photography site. I have been capturing light since 1990 when I got my first camera, an olympus point & shoot film type which i had great fun with. I have a love for analogue or film photography. there is a nice nostalgic feel to using old film cameras up to 60 years old and is an enjoyable hobby even down to finding and using forgotten treasures like the old polaroid land cameras and the film they use. I have dedicated my blog to my film photography along with some projects i have been pursuing on the series page. The architectural interiors page and the environmental landscape pages of this site were generated from digital cameras. my real passion is for landscape photography particularly around connemara in county galway, & being based on the west coast of ireland in galway I am within an hours drive of the burren in county clare, connemara in galway & joyce country of mayo & sligo, the connaught area holds ideal locations for landscape & seascape photography. the countryside of the western counties of mayo, galway and clare are my hunting ground for my landscape and seascape photos. the light changes from hour to hour, sometimes minute by minute with the high winds and fast moving cloud over the mountainous terrain of connemara and the burren so no two days in the same location will offer the same image, today can be a beautiful fresh day with Blue skies and big fulffy white clouds, tomorrow can be cloudier with a more diffused type of light and then after a light shower and a break in the clouds a rainbow can appear for 5 minutes and then disappear . . . magic. i plan to add a page on my site dedicated to my art which i have been working on for a number of years, more to follow. if you have any queries or an interest in any aspect of my work please contact me from the contact page. |
